The International Association of Women in
Corrections is a nonprofit 501 (c) (6)
organization.
Mission
The mission of the International Association of
Women in Corrections (IAWIC) is to improve the
health, social and economic welfare of female
officers and employees; to secure better training; to improve
the safety and working conditions of female
officers; to work toward eliminating sexual
discrimination and sexual harassment in the
correctional workplace; and to provide
assistance to the spouses of officers.
Online Association
To keep administrative costs to an absolute
minimum, the IAWIC has a working Board of
Directors that is 100% volunteer. The IAWIC has
elected to set up an E-Association to handle the
administrative and communication functions of
the organization. By doing so, the IAWIC can
ensure that the money we receive to further our
cause is used effectively and efficiently. We
don’t want our funds to be spent on unnecessary
overhead and we want women from around the world
to have an equal opportunity to participate.
